Lea
Wednesday, December 23, 2009 | Random

My friend Lea came to visit from Charleston this week, so we have spent the last few days goofing off, eating lunch, and going to Christmas parties!  She even got to experience Christmas in Dixie literally when we went to a party Monday night in Dixie, GA!  ha

Lea is updating her website and wanted a few photos to possibly use on her "about me" page.

We even borrowed my friend Beth's children (Pierce and Sally) for a few photos of Lea interacting with children...

For Fun: Boy or Girl?
Tuesday, December 15, 2009 | Random

I think most of my blog readers know from facebook that I am pregnant.  Well...Thursday we will find out whether baby Higgins is a boy or a girl.  Up until about a week ago - everyone (and I mean everyone) said that we would have a girl.  Now all of the sudden everyone is saying it's a boy.

So...what do you think?

*** UPDATE: It's a BOY!  We are super excited!  ***

Corinna Hoffman: CONGRATS on the baby boy :)  The name "Cole" is really awesome even if it means "dark one" .. and you´re right, it just means that he´s gonna be super tan :) (12/23/09, 05:52)
Shara Lana: Congratulations Jill and Brian.   Kyla just came downstairs and told me your good news.  I wanted to let you know that I am very happy for you two, well three.  I know that you will make great parents.  Enjoy this sweet time in your lives.   God Bless and Merry CHRISTmas. Shara PS:  What is it???  Boy or Girl??? (12/23/09, 05:53)
Janet Nettle: Us girls here in Kansas City Mo. at Knapheide Truck just heard you two are expecting. Brian called us this morning. This is absolutely wonderful!!!! You brought tears to us as we all knew how badly Brenda wanted to be a grandmother.  We have already thought of a name if its a boy, haha.  How about Brendan, or Brendon? Maybe somehow you all could incorporate her name.  This is just fabulous. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! Janet, Carol, Sally, Pam, and Jacqueline  PS. We would like you and Brians address. You can send me in my email address. (12/17/09, 10:19)

Courtney Hitchcock: Jill! I didn´t know you were prego!  Many Congrats are in order!  So I guess you won´t be running in March at Seaside!  But that´s okay.. we need some cheerleaders!   I have no idea if it´s a boy or girl.. but either way I am sure you´ll be a wonderful mom.. and your mom will spoil that new grandbaby!! (12/16/09, 10:48)
Kelly: I can´t believe you´ve been pregnant long enough to find out what it is yet! You and Brian will be fabulous parents either way... but I´m secretly hoping for a boy. Granted, that onesie outfit I bought you that is girly is SUPER cute. But I like the monster one a little more. Hahahahaha! (12/16/09, 10:27)

A LIttle Sweetness for Your Day: Emilin's Baptism
Thursday, December 10, 2009 | Random

Everyone can use a little sweetness in their day, so I though I would share a few special photos with you this morning that I snapped last Sunday in church when sweet Emilin was baptized.

Emilin was surrounded by lots of friends and family who love her.

the congregational pledge...

I hope that sweetened your day!  :)

Chelsey Petrey and Martin John Slusher: Wedding: Flatwoods
Friday, December 04, 2009 | Weddings

Chelsey and Martin were married in Barwick, GA.  Barwick is located at 30°53′32″N 83°44′18″W in case you ever need to find it.  With a population under 500 and no red lights - you might need those coordinates!  :)

I'm teasing.  Barwick is a lovely, small town surrounded by beautiful countryside.  I grew up in Barwick.  Barwick is actually quite famous because it appeared in Alan Jackson's Little Man video along with the neighboring town of Pavo.

Anyway..I digress...    :)

Chelsey and Martin were married out in the country in the most beautiful setting.

Martin's last name is Slusher, so I loved the "S" banner they hung...

Beautiful setting or what?

The details were well though out and elegant, but also very "back to the basics" and appropriate for a cabin setting.  The colors of black, white, green, and brown blended beautifully with the surroundings.

Chelsey and Martin are outdoorsy types, so I found some shotgun shells to use for their ring shots.

Chelsey is so pretty.

Getting ready...

And Martin is pretty great too.  :)

Yes...she's a little gorgeous.

Love this one...

Chelsey and Martin saw each other out on the pond where the ceremony would take place.

Chelsey with the sisters.  These girls are all pretty awesome.  Paige (to the right of Chelsey) was my flower girl when I was married.  :)

The bouquets were perfect.

Wyatt and Owen (or Owen and Wyatt) looking super cute...

I love to get the groom's reaction when he sees his bride...

Chelsey and Martin had musicians that did a beautiful job - but they also had unexpected musical guests.  Hundreds of blackbirds flew overhead and landed in the trees and sang to Chelsey and Martin as well!  :)  I have never seen/heard anything quite like that at a wedding.

Mr. and Mrs. Martin John Slusher...

The red velvet cake was too die for delicious...

The rest of the food was also great - and well presented.

A sweet dance with the bride...

After a bird seed exit, Chelsey and Martin were off to enjoy their honeymoon.

Chelsey and Martin - I hope you had a great time on your trip!  See you soon.
