The Crescent
Friday, February 29, 2008 | Fine Art

A few days ago I posted about spending a leisurely afternoon photographing buildings around Valdosta.  The previous post was about an image that I created with a photograph of Christ Episcopal Church.  Today I thought I would share another image - this one is the Cresent - a well known landmark in Valdosta.

Have a good weekend!  I have three photo sessions scheduled for this weekend, so be ready to see lots of beautiful people posted next week!  :)

wicked winch: This lens works much better on beautiful architecture than old peoples faces. Lovely; you really need to get a side as PR photographer with various Chamber of Commerce "Auntie" (02/29/08, 04:09)
shara lana: Very cool.  Thanks for taking me on a tour of Valdosta.  I was raised not too far from there but I have never seen the historic side.  : ) (02/29/08, 03:10)
Tristan Tom: Great shot! The wide angle fisheye lens seems to work particularly well here. (02/29/08, 11:57)

Christ Episcopal Church
Wednesday, February 27, 2008 | Fine Art

Last Sunday I decided to go out with my camera and get a few shots of places around Valdosta.  As I drove down Patterson Street, my first stop was VSU.  I also couldn't resist getting a shot of Christ Episcopal Church which is just across the road.  My friend Beth goes to church there, and I thought she might like it.  I used my fisheye lens and a little photoshop work to add an interesting twist.

I have had quite a few people express an interest in art prints so I think I am going to begin offering canvas prints of local places and things of interest.  Stay tuned - I'll be posting more as time permits.

Jill Higgins: Hi Sha - you should do that - and we should do that next time I´m in Charleston - it would be fun.  Beth Baker - you need a blog!!  Adrienne - for the above shot: Canon 5D/15mm fisheye/CS2 (02/28/08, 05:39)
Adrienne: What camera/lens do you use and what version of photoshop? (02/28/08, 05:28)
Beth Baker: JILL HIGGINS....I LOOOOVE YOU! Can you believe that I now check a "blog"?  I check yours out almost every day! (02/28/08, 05:28)
shara lana: Very Good Idea!  There are so many places here in Charleston that I could offer for Art as well.  Love it.  When you come back to Charleston, we will do another tour of the town and create some new BEAUTIFUL images.  I thought about doing note cards for the local gift shops around town too. You are always thinking girl! (02/27/08, 11:29)

Where are you?
Monday, February 25, 2008 | Random

One of the coolest things about having a website is the ability to check the stats of site visitors.  Analyzing my stats helps me learn things like:

- what keywords visitors use to find my site
- which pages/events are the most popular
- what links were used to reach my site
- what cities/countries my visitors come from
- how visitors navigate through my site

I know:

- 45% of visitors that find me through a search engine use Google - followed closely by Yahoo.
- 71% of visitors to my site use Internet Explorer
- I have the most visitors on Mondays and Thursdays.
- I have the most visitors at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

No worries though - it doesn't exactly tell me who my visitors are, it just provides me with a general geographic area of where they are.

I copied and pasted the chart below which shows the countries of visitors to my site - and this chart is just for the month of February!  Isn't it amazing how global we truly are these days?

So...leave a comment.  Tell me where you are from and how you found my site!  I would love to know more than the impersonal numbers that my stat counters provide.  :)

Natarsha: Hi! I love your site.  I am from Washington, DC, however I am currently overseas in Korea. You photographed a destination wedding with my former employer Linnyette Richardson-Hall in 2007 and I believe that you may be photographing Izabella´s wedding this year. I visit your website often because I am a amatuer photographer and you give me inspiration. Once I get my Canon 5D I will be in business and feel more confident about my work. I love your pictures! (02/29/08, 04:42)
Jill Higgins: Sorry Sha - currently I am only traveling to Mercury and Venus.  I hope to make it to Mars in 2010.  Lisa - hey!  I can´t wait for your wedding - I know it will be so much fun!! (02/27/08, 08:47)
Lisa: I´m so glad to see more people who look at the blog almost daily so Jill doesn´t think I´m a stalker! :) Jill is photographing our wedding in April and I am SO excited! I take a break from work every day to see what is new on the blog.  I just know my wedding pictures are gonna be fantastic... (02/27/08, 09:00)

Jill Higgins: Lindsi - wow - that would be cool - maybe a wedding on Mars or something??  We would be so hot if we were the first photographers to do that!  :)  Kelly - I think I know you and I think I check your blog out too!  (ha) Hey Dennis!  Abby - thank you SO much - I really appreciate your sweet words!  Adrienne -  you grew up in Brooks County?  We have to know each other then!  I live in Valdosta now - but I grew up in Nankin/Barwick/Quitman.  :) (02/26/08, 06:23)
Adrienne Fausett: I happened upon your website by accident but have really enjoyed viewing your work.  I love photography myself (as a hobby - love creating Shutterfly photo books) and really appreciate great photography.  Your work is beautiful.  I have figured out you in or near Quitman by some of the families I have seen on the site.  I grew up in beautiful Brooks County.  Will keep visiting your site to see what´s new. (02/26/08, 06:23)
Abby: Hey! I live in Moultrie, Georgia and I found out about your website by Alex Edward´s wedding pictures.  I grew up going to church with Alex & she is a friend of mine on MySpace :), and she posted a link about her wedding pictures and I followed it to your website!  You do such BEAUTIFUL work!!! I cannot wait until I get married, because I SO want you to be my photographer!  I visit your page almost everyday just to see what new things you have posted...I love it! (02/26/08, 04:53)
Dennis: Stats are addicting arent they? (02/25/08, 06:32)
Kelly: How awesome... I check your blog almost daily, but I think it´s interesting that Mondays are busiest. Probably someone seeing if anything new happened over the weekend. As you know, I´m from good ´ole V-town, and consistently stalk your blog! :) (02/25/08, 06:32)
Lindsi : 296 from ? Unknown, must be aliens. They visit my site too. What could they be planning??  A wedding perhaps? (02/25/08, 08:11)

Ally B
Wednesday, February 20, 2008 | Random

Alex is having a website made for Ally B (her clothing boutique in Thomasville) and needed a few photos of the inside of her store and some shots of a few of her mannequins.

Her store is awesome, so you need to check it out if you have never been.

She has a cute sitting area and big, roomy dressing rooms.

And of course...lots of beautiful clothes!  Her new spring collection is the best ever.

Who can resist the hottest jeans?

I couldn't resist the sparkly jewelry!

And last,I made Alex let me get a few shots of her!  :)

Vist Ally B at 120 North Broad Street in Thomasville!
