Carter Family: Christmas Photos
Monday, October 27, 2008 | Families

Yesterday I photographed the Carter family.  I have to say that they were perfect and made the session way too easy!

Seriously...they just fell into place effortlessly.

I think this is my favorite family portrait...

Even Buddy - their super cute dog - cooperated!

Amy and Doug...

Mary Alex and Davis:

Sweet...

Fun...

Doug and Davis...

Davis is such a cutie...

Check out his new motocross bike...

Mary Alex is so pretty - I love her eyes!

Playing the piano quickly before heading out to see HSM3...

And just for fun - I wanted to show off two new Christmas card designs.  Amy and Doug actually have other plans for cards so these designs are up for grabs.  (I only use a design once so you don't have to worry about someone else having the same card.)

(It seems a little to be hearing Christmas music, but the holidays will be here before we know it.  Since this was a session for Christmas images - I decided to use Christmas music for their slideshow so they can share it with friends and family during the holidays.)

Freddie Taylor
Tuesday, September 09, 2008 | Families

I had the pleasure of photographing Freddie Taylor and his family at their lovely home in the country.  Mr. Taylor is running for Lowndes County Sheriff and needed some photos for campaign purposes.

We started with family photos.  They were very easy to photograph, and their super cute grandchildren were perfect.

Then I got a few shots of Mr. Taylor...

As I have said before...I love elections - campaigns and everything surrounding them.  There is something empowering and patriotic about casting my ballot.  Big election years are even better.

I hope all of you will vote this year - it is a great way that you can honor those that fought so hard for our voting rights.  One vote can make a difference!  And besides - you get to run around town with that fabulous "I voted" sticker all day!  There's nothing more fun than a sticker, right?  :D

Let me tell you more about Freddie Taylor in case you live in Lowndes County.

He retired from the Georgia State Patrol with the rank of Major after 32 years of service.  He also served as Deputy Battalion Commander for the 2004 G8 Summit.  His resume is quite impressive!

He pledges to:
-Provide citizens with the most advanced, effective and ethical law enforcement while fighting crime.
-Establish focus groups to obtain citizen feedback on crime concerns and methods of improving service.
-Involve the Sheriff's Office with community based organizations and other government entities to offer support where possible.
-Improve interaction with all public safety agencies to provide the most effective services to citizens.

If you would like more information on Freddie Taylor, feel free to contact him at freddietylr@yahoo.com.  I am sure that he would be happy to answer any questions that you may have - or hook you up with some brochures or yard signs if you would like them.

A note to all of my loyal blog readers...I have been super busy over the last week and a half and have lots to blog.  Here is a look at what is coming up:
-Shirlene & Brian's Beach Session
-Brian & Nicole's Wedding Album
-Emilie & Kevin's Wedding Album
-Ally B/City Market Grand Opening
-Kelly Williams Portraits
-Jessica DeSantiago Portraits
-Shirlene & Brian's Orange County, California Wedding

SEE THE WEBSHOW: AUDREY'S SLIDESHOW

It has been a long time since I have had the opportunity to photograph a little baby.  Weddings keep me so busy that I haven't been able to offer as many portrait sessions as I would like, but I plan to begin doing more.

Audrey was sleeping sweetly when I arrived.

Her pink and green room is so cute.

As she woke up, I'm sure Audrey was thinking, "Oh no!  The paparazzi!"  :D

Nick (a.k.a. Audrey's daddy) and I went to the same elementary school, and I don't think I had seen him since about fourth grade.  Luckily he was able to come home from work, slip into some comfortable clothes, and hang out for a little while.

I love these...

When I do sessions with children, my goal is to capture what their environment and life is like.   Rather than just see what they looked like posed, I like to provide a glimpse into their life that they can enjoy when they are older.

Allison and Nick enjoy relaxing on their bed talking to Audrey so that is where we started out.

Allison had the idea for this shot.  I love it - it cracks me up.

A family shot in the living room...

Audrey has a closet full or beautiful clothes, and it was fun that she had a few wardrobe changes!  :)  I love the sideways look in the 2nd photo below - as if she is thinking, "Are you done yet?"

It was super hot and humid outside, but we found a little shady space in the backyard for a few photos...

Audrey is a smart little girl who is already plowing though books.  lol
I couldn't believe how she stared at the pages and her mama and daddy read to her!

Look at those pretty eyes...

It was soon time for Nick to say goodbye and get ready to go back to work.

This is my favorite image of Allison and Audrey...

A few of beautiful Audrey by herself...

And her cute little feet...

And eyes and nose and lips and ears...

I love this totally girly shot of Allison's pearls and Audrey's pink slippers.

And I couldn't resist ending with this shot that says, "Alright lady - are you still here?  I've had enough."  :D

Thanks Allison and Nick for having me photograph Audrey.  She is so cute and so sweet - I had a great time!

The Hagan Family
Thursday, December 06, 2007 16:15 | Families

PURCHASE PRINTS: PICTAGE LAB

VIEW THE SLIDESHOW: THE HAGAN CHRISTMAS SLIDESHOW

(I couldn't resist the song.  The Hagans live in Dixie, Georgia.)

The Hagans are awesome - I have known them for a long time.  Johnny and I actually went to the same school (that is now closed).  He was sooo many grades ahead of me though that I didn't really know him then.  haha  Isn't it funny how a few years seems so huge when you are in school??  Anyway, after college, Lari and I ended up in the service leage together.

Lari and Johnny...

Then years later, Zach ended up in my third grade classroom.  And let me tell you - I loved his class so much.  Our class produced a school news show and Zach was the camera man.  He also happens to be super smart.  I'm not so sure how I feel about looking UP to him now though!  lol

And then along came Hunter.  I didn't have him in my classroom.
He was across the hall in Mrs. Carpenter's room, but I remember picking on him though.  :)

We went to the cow pen for the shoot.  I was so excited.  But the cows showed their behinds.  Literally.
They just wouldn't cooperate.  lol

Johnny was so prepared and even spread feed out for them, but we just kept getting cow behinds in the shots.  So...although I didn't really get any cool cow shots...I did get some shots that I really like!

I think this is my favorite...

Boys will be boys.  Johnny says he can still take 'em.  I don't know.  What do you think?   :)

A few more:

Merry Christmas!

The Baker Family - Christmas Photos
Tuesday, December 04, 2007 09:59 | Families

"Where do you think you're going? Nobody's leaving. Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned family Christmas. No, no. We're all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny [bleep] Kaye."

I love the Baker family!  Brian and I went over for a yummy dinner last night and to get some images for their Christmas card.  Pierce and Sally are so lucky to have such awesome parents!

Beth is Martha Stewart and Clark Griswald all tied up in one fabulous package.  She has a Clark Griswald quote she wants to use on her cards (not the one above) so we pulled out the big, old fashioned Christmas lights for some photos.

Sally checking out the Christmas ornaments...

Out come the lights...

I'm guessing that Pierce is searching for the police officer ormanent...

Family photos...

Beth and Pierce

Cliff and Sally

Ellen and Clark... ha

And then we caught this sweet candid moment.

lol

There were no sweet tarts involved.

I promise.  (fingers crossed)

Chef Pierre-ce and Sally try out some gingergread cookies.

A couple of Christmas card ideas...
