Myrtle Beach Family Session
Thursday, August 19, 2010 | Families

I love facebook.  Yep.  Love it.  In fact, if you are not on my friends list, feel free to join me.

As a wedding photographer, you get to experience such an important day in the life of so many people.  After being even a tiny part of that - it's nice to be able to stay in touch with clients and get a glimpse into how their new life together unfolds.

When I first met Kim and Brandon over four years ago, I was living in Charleston.  They were engaged and needed some photos.  This is one of the photos I snapped of them...

A couple of years later I got to see Kim again when I photographed her sister's beautiful wedding at Berry Hill Resort in Virginia.  The photo below shows Kim's sister Kay and her husband Bobby.

So to make a short story long...that is how I know Kim and Brandon!

Kim contacted me recently and said that she and Brandon would be at Myrtle Beach with his family and asked me about doing a photo session.  I was so excited to go do it because I got to see them AND their sweet baby girl that I have kept up with on facebook.  :)

This is Brandon and super cute Elianna...

You might say she likes to have sand between her toes!  :)

Brandon's family was fabulous - loved them.  They always hold hands and walk down the beach together.  {ha}  It's a little impossible to do true lifestyle photos of a large family group, but they were certainly up for having some fun.

Brandon's parents...

Kim, Brandon, and Elianna...

Brandon's brother Jason has two equally adorable children - Balen & Yvette.

How sweet is this shot of Brandon's brother Chris and his Granny...

Chris is a popular guy - Balen likes hugging on him too!

Brandon and Elianna playing in the water...

Cuteness...

It's safe to say she is not afraid of the water!

Brandon also has a fabulous sister named Alicia who is engaged to Stephen.  They are so fabulous that they required a series of photos to show off their talents.  lol

Elianna and her Great Granny...

A little fun in the water...

Now Granny...she's a little bit spunky...and a little bit rock-n-roll.  She grabbed Alicia, and made her own little dance floor out in the ocean.  She "may" have been on the lookout for a cute man walking by.  I'm just sayin'!  :)

Now this is Alicia (and Brandon's dad).  Sure.  He looks all nice and cuddly, right?

Well before I knew it he was totally out of control...

Heehee...we kid...we kid.

I love, love this shot...the love...the motion...the colors.

Meanwhile, the couples were smooching away on the beach.

And yes...Alicia and Stephen will be married next year so we had to do something fun with their wedding date.

I had so much fun with y'all!  Hope to see you on your next beach vacation!

The Griffin Family: Ponte Vedra Beach, FL
Thursday, February 25, 2010 | Families

Saturday morning Thomas, Mandi, and their boys began their day at 4:00 a.m. to drive to Ponte Vedra to meet me at the beach for some family photos.  It was cold...really cold.  I wasn't sure how three little boys were going to do on a frigid beach so early in the morning after a long car ride...but I am happy to report that they were GREAT!  I  know their parents are so proud of them!

The light was soft and pretty when we first arrived at the beach so the family went for a short walk...

Getting a family with three small children to walk together like this is usually not easy...but they made it look like they do this every day.  :)

Ahhhh....rocks!  Rocks everywhere!  Such excitement for little boys.  :)

Eli...he was was more into the water than the rocks.

Noah and Caleb were all about making a splash...

I love this shot of Eli looking up at his mama with a sweet smile on his face...

We even managed a quick posed shot.  They are an impressive bunch, huh?  :)

Mandi and Thomas are such a cute couple...

Caleb exploring...

Noah gets in on the action...

More rock throwing...

Fun times in the sand...

I met Thomas when I was doing some work for R3 Global.  Thomas was working for them at the time in video production.  I think he can do anything!  He can produce videos, build websites - plus he is also a musician and singer.

Sweet shots of Thomas and Mandi with Eli...

More shell hunting for Caleb...

Doesn't Mandi have a beautiful smile?

Eli on the go...probably making a dash for the water!

"Caught" by his mama...

The photo below cracks me up...Eli looks so goth as he bundles up, has a little meltdown, and calls it quits for a day at the beach!

A few more of Mandi and Thomas...you can tell they really enjoy being together.  Love it!

Whoops!  Love the next one where Eli can be seen turning around and making one last attempt at getting in the water!

Fortunately, Mandi and Thomas were super smart and brought a babysitter along to help with the boys so they were able to laugh it off and keep on walking.  :)

It was great meeting your family Thomas - you and Mandi are surely blessed!

Flowers Family
Friday, May 08, 2009 | Families

Last week I met up with Sandy and Lang at their family farm to get some photos of their family.  We had beautiful scenery to work with and started out by a pond.

Langdon is such a great big brother and did a good job holding little sister Audrey.

Then we took a little swing break before heading over to another part of the farm.

Next we did a little quail hunting.  ha

By the shooting range...

The light was becoming so pretty in this next shot.  Check out Audrey just chillin' out.

What a great looking couple - no wonder they have such beautiful children!

Sandy is not only gorgeous - but so funny.  (Sandy - I'm still laughing at your crazy self and the biz idea the other night.)

Audrey is pretty, sweet, and perfect!

Hanging with the parents...   :)

I'm sure Langdon and Bradshaw will keep a close watch over her as she grows up!

Wiped out afer a long day of modeling...

Bradshaw is just a bundle of cuteness.

Even though he isn't smiling - I love the next one.

Checking out his cute little dirty feet at the end of the night!

Langdon started out with a little pouting, and I love this shot...

I love the image of him in front of the stone too...

What a cutie...

We start early down here in the county...  ha

Brothers...

I hope to see you all again soon!  :)

Family Portrait Session: Florida
Friday, December 19, 2008 | Families

Earlier this week I drove about an hour or so down to Florida for a session with the Perfect Family.  Okay, so obviously that isn't their real name - but they are pretty perfect.  I knew Todd, but it was my first time meeting the rest of the crew.

Their family goes all out for the holidays with beautiful decorating...

Lyndsey just recently began piano lessons, but she is a natural because you would think she has been taking for a long time.

Hailey doesn't play the piano - she plays the radio like her dad.  :)

Both Lyndsey and Hailey are amazing girls!

They sure do love their parents!

A few family shots out on the dock...

Todd and Krista were high school sweethearts!

Krista is so pretty and sweet too.  (I told you they were perfect.)

We took a few more family shots before I left...

And they are lucky that they still have Rusty.  He is so cute that I wanted to bring him home with me!

It was fun hanging out with all of you - I will see you soon in Orlando!

Amy Clifton: These ARE "perfect." I love the series on the dock, especially the family laughing together. Love the shot of the older daughter in front of the stone wall and the younger one on the steps--those are beautiful. Did you get some new lenses? Looks like a 1.4? (12/20/08, 08:12)

Family Portrait Session: Drexel Park
Saturday, December 06, 2008 | Families

I am so glad that I was able to squeeze in a portrait session for Sarah's family.  We got together the day after Thanksgiving (which was only a few hours after I returned from my vacation in Europe), and I couldn't help but be a little worried that my flight might be delayed or something.  The rain also held off just until the end of our session.

They might look like a really sweet family, but don't let them fool you.  All it takes is to slip up and say one silly thing - and then you can forget it!

Okay...so I am totally kidding.  They really were nice - and fun too.  At the shoot, my brain was a little fuzzy from train rides and plane rides and car rides and lack of sleep.  I don't know about you, but the mother below looks very happy to be spending time with her children.  (ha - a little inside joke)

The grandchildren...

Elliott is such a cutie!

I love this one...

Random family photos...

This is Sarah - the CEO of the family portrait session.

A couple more Christmas postcard ideas...

It was so great spending time with you all!  I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful 2009!  :)
