Sage and Brooks: Bugs, Frogs, Splashing, & Jumping!
Monday, August 30, 2010 | Children

Last week I made a post about Sage and Brooks.  Because I was having software problems, I was only able to post some of the images.  I am happy to report that the software problems have been resolved, and the rest of the images are now ready!  :)

Sage and Brooks walking hand in hand down the driveway...

The cuteness also known as Sage...

Her handsome brother Brooks...

You always have to be on the lookout for bugs, right?

Sage and Brooks have a favorite game they like to play together where they feed flies to a frog.  The first photo shows them playing happily.  I'll confess...that lasted all of about five seconds.  The fun was quickly over due to the gnats, and the bottom photo shows what the scene really looked like with the two of them steadily swatting the pesky little insects.  :)

We had to move around because that is the only way to keep the gnats away.  The tire swing looked like a good solution!

Next, Brooks decided to go on a bug hunt.

We didn't have much luck around the pool, so he grabbed his gun and we went looking for squirrels instead.  :)

Ya know...you have to be very still to hunt.  And you know what that means, right?  GNATS!  Brooks decided that the trampoline was a much better option, and Sage came back out to join us.

Next, the parents came out and took Brooks and Sage for a quick golf cart ride.

Last but not least, I couldn't resist sticking around to get a few shots of Sage and Brooks as they splashed in the pool.

Lindsay - it was fun hanging out with Sage and Brooks - even with the gnats!  :)  ha

Sage and Brooks: Horses, Bubbles, and Make Believe!
Friday, August 27, 2010 | Children

This is the first post of two.  I am having major software troubles and only got some of the images from the session with Sage and Brooks edited.  The others will be up just as soon as my new softwared arrives.  It's probably a good thing because I had SUCH a hard time deciding what to post...it would have been impossible to choose which ones to post for just one post.

Lindsay booked a session +2.  When booking, you have a choice of booking for just one child or sibling group but adding on other options.  The first priority was getting images of Sage and Brooks playing together.  The +2 was adding on options for getting photos of Sage playing by herself and Brooks playing by himself as well.

We met at Brooks and Sage's Meme's house.  She has a great tire swing that was fun for the kids to ride because it is made to look like a horse.  Sage laughed and laughed as her brother pushed her on the swing - especially when he pretended that she knocked him down.

I will have photos of Brooks on the swing in the next post.

After swinging, we had a bubble blowing contest.  These two took the contest seriously, and I believe it ended with a tie!  :)

When they are older I think that Brooks and Sage will look back at these photos and laugh at all the brother-sister moments.  :)

I love Sage's little pink Converse shoes!

I love, love this photo of Sage being a butterfly...

And also tipping the cute scale...photos of Princess Sage...

Sage and Brooks were awesome, and I can't wait to share the rest of the photos with you.  It was hot as blue blazes when we had the session with about a million gnats swarming, so I'm extra happy with what we got!  And for my "yankee friends" who don't know what gnats are --- consider yourselves LUCKY!

Emilin
Wednesday, March 17, 2010 | Children

I don't normally do "posed" photos - that just isn't my talent.  But sweet, little Emilin needed a few, and I was happy to oblige.  She was recently baptized and her mama made her dress.  That's right - she made it.  I can't even imagine how many hours went into this beautiful dress with such intricate details - but Emilin definitely needed some photos in it!

This is what Emilin thought about getting all dressed up early in the morning...

Clearly she was not appreciating the intricate details and was trying to pull the ribbon off!  :)

No worries though - her mama soon had her laughing...

We did the photos at the beautiful home of Emilin's Mimi - I love these.

If you happen to know Emilin's Mimi, you know that she is the best pianist on the planet.  We are so fortunate to be blessed with her music at our church.  It looks like Emilin will follow in her footsteps!

Love the one below...

Emilin's Mimi is also known for having a beautiful, southern porch overflowing with luscious ferns so I was glad that we were able to go outside for a few shots...

Emilin resting on her mama's shoulder...

To be honest with you, Emilin really didn't have time for all our picture taking.  She was anxious to get back to business and started texting and taking phone calls right away.

Ahhhh...freedom!  :)

Isn't Emilin a cutie?  And can you believe the dress?  Amazing, huh?

Grayson: Eight Months Old
Wednesday, February 17, 2010 | Children

Sunday afternoon I met sweet little Grayson and her parents at her grandparents new pond house for some photos.

She was looking super cute - and mom and dad were not looking too bad either!  :)

Grayson had so much cuteness going on that it would have been impossible to choose a small enough number of photos for the blog.  Some images just look great as a series anyway...

Love these expressions...

Playing on the dock...

Can you imagine how much fun Grayson is going to have here in the summers as she is growing up?

It was Valentine's Day after all...

Then we went inside for a little indoor cuteness...

Love the hat...

Grayson in a dress that her mama wore when she was a baby...

It's never too early to enjoy some front porch swinging!

Sweet...

This could be another series...

I think Grayson's daddy is a little smitten with her.  Can you blame him??

And how sweet is this...

Grayson is not only beautiful, but she is sweet too.  She brought along a Valentine's gift basket for baby Cole!  :)

I hope to see you all again SOON!  Grayson - bring your parents to see me!  :)

The Bakers
Monday, January 04, 2010 | Children

When my friend Lea was in town I took some photos not only of her - but of her interacting with children so that she could use them on her new website.  Because we needed some children to shoot Lea interacting with, I called up the Bakers and had them meet us at the park.

While I was shooting the photos of Lea, I managed to get a few quick shots of the kids playing and their mama having a good time with them.

It is always my priority to get photos of children being themselves and interacting with people who are important to them.  I think they will treasure those types of photos much more when they are all grown up.  I have been moving my portrait business more and more in that direction and will make even more changes in the near future.  Stay tuned for a few GREAT deals that I will soon be posting as I work to get my portfolio and materials to more closely line up with the type of shoots I want to do.
